Strengthening women and girls through skills, education and opportunities

Women play a major role in shaping families and communities, yet many still face barriers that limit their potential. Challenges such as poverty, lack of education, gender inequality and limited access to resources prevent many women from reaching their goals. Be The Light Foundation (BTLF) is committed to changing this. Through our Women Empowerment Program, we help women develop practical skills, gain financial stability and build the confidence they need to thrive.

With our headquarters in Cameroon and outreach in Senegal and other African regions, we focus on giving women the tools, knowledge and support that open doors to a brighter and more independent future.

What We Do

Our program is designed to uplift women through sustainable support systems and practical training.

1. Skills Training and Vocational Programs
We offer training in trades such as tailoring, hairdressing, catering, computer literacy and other income-generating activities. These programs allow women to start small businesses or secure better employment.

2. Financial Literacy and Small Business Support
Many women want to start a business but lack the knowledge or resources. We provide guidance on budgeting, saving, managing finances and business planning. We also help connect women with startup support where possible.

3. Empowerment and Leadership Workshops
We hold workshops that build confidence, communication skills, self-awareness and leadership qualities. These sessions help women become strong decision-makers in their families and communities.

4. Support for Vulnerable Women and Girls
We extend help to widows, single mothers, survivors of violence and young girls who face challenging circumstances. Our support includes counseling, emergency aid and access to essential resources.

5. Education and Awareness Campaigns
We run community programs that promote gender equality, women’s rights, health awareness and the importance of educating girls. These campaigns foster more supportive and inclusive environments.

Why Women Empowerment Matters

When women succeed, communities grow stronger. Empowered women are able to support their families, build stable livelihoods and inspire others around them. Investing in women has a long-lasting impact, breaking the cycle of poverty and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Our Impact

Through our work in Cameroon and Senegal, we have helped women gain skills, start small businesses and regain confidence. As we expand globally, we remain committed to promoting equality and giving women a fair chance to reach their full potential.
